As everyone knows by now, Facebook unveiled a new platform for their business pages this week. I happen to like the changes as I think that they benefit local businesses in many ways.
The new Facebook page lay out acts more like personal pages and provide some excellent tools for businesses. These include:
- Unlimited “liker’s” – with personal profiles you can only have 5,000 friends.
- Increased functionality – you can add special landing pages, contests and promotions as well as apps that give your page increased functionality. You can’t do this with personal profiles.
- Take advanage of Facebook geo-targeted advertising. Again you can’t do this with Personal Profile Pages.
